Who we are

The Family Lawyers Association is made up of solicitors and barristers who practice in the area of family law and at present has hundreds of members spread throughout Ireland. Associate Membership is available to other professional persons whose work is connected with family law. The Association has been in existence for over twenty years and has served the dual function of promoting contact between family lawyers and fostering a greater level of knowledge and information in regard to family law.

Membership Benefits

The Family Lawyers Association of Ireland was founded in 1987 and has now grown to be the largest Association of its kind in Great Britain and Ireland. With its principal offices in Dublin, the Association also has a dynamic branch based in Cork. Both branches are active in the field of legal education, law reform, dialogue between practitioners and Court users, and lively social events, in Ireland and beyond.

Ordinary membership is open to all practising Solicitors and Barristers, whilst Associate Membership is open to other professionals working in the wider area of Family Law.

There are many benefits of membership of the Family Lawyers Association Ordinary Membership is open to all practising Solicitors and Barristers. Associate Membership is open to former or retired Solicitors and Barristers, Judges (Judicial Member), family law academics (Academic Member) and associated professionals, the last mentioned at the discretion of the Executive Committee.

The subscriptions for 2022 for the Family Lawyers Association are now due. The membership rates are as follows:
